Florida Trail: One of 11 National Scenic Trails in the United States. It’s ~1,300 miles long. Its northern terminus is at the Alabama/Florida border. Its southern terminus is in Big Cyprus Preserve in southern Florida. Ongoing.

Florida is perhaps the only place to comfortably take a long walk in North American January
As such, I’ve found it to be an enjoyable trail to section hike during those winter doldrums. Predominantly flat and ranging from open pine forest to swampland (with a good bit of pavement thrown in) it’s not the mountainous wilderness that other trails provide, but I think most people will be surprised at the amount of backcountry and crystal clear springs that Florida holds. It’s marked with orange blazes.
