Words from the Wild Thru-Hike of the West Highland Way, Scotland

May 13-23, 2027: This beginner friendly thru-hike is an ideal way to experience the beauty of Scotland’s Western Highlands!

Embark on one of the world’s most iconic long-distance walks as you journey through Scotland’s rugged heartlands on the legendary West Highland Way. This 96-mile trail takes you from the gentle lowlands outside Glasgow into soaring glens, pristine lochs, and the dramatic peaks of the highlands. Every day brings new landscapes, deeper immersion in nature, and a growing sense of accomplishment as you walk through some of Scotland’s most breathtaking terrain.

Along the way, you’ll experience the full sweep of the country’s natural beauty: the rolling farmlands of the south, the island-studded expanse of Loch Lomond, the vast emptiness of Rannoch Moor, and the towering presence of Glen Coe and Ben Nevis. Each stage offers its own rhythm – from quiet woodland paths to rugged rocky trails – creating a remarkable journey across shifting environments, ancient history, and timeless wilderness.
